Women in Poker

Women in Poker
Venus Vs Mars or Adam, Eve and the pot! Let's face it. Like the forbidden fruit, many gaming events have eluded "the Eves" for decades until they finally get to enjoy it. Women have always been considered the underdogs, may it be Football, basketball, cricket or Golf, and now poker due to the age old conditioning, societal pressures or their own ignorance. Whatever the reason be, here is a game of broken toothed, cigar chewing, pot bellied men which women could fight single handedly in the enemy's den. No Kidding! Poker is a game which is intrinsically intuitive, manipulative, tactical and of high discipline. Somehow women just score so well in all of these sections!
Entering the casino and playing with all men at the poker table has been one of the most adventurous experiences for many women. The key is not to lose cool. There would be plenty of domination, picking and provocation; guys would just want to have fun. Yet there is the other side too of getting those not demanded favors or more importantly being underestimated. Add to it women are generally more spendthrift, would always make the best bet or get the best poker deal which makes the odds of losing less damaging. Add to that another dollop; women are born lie detectors. Bluffing wouldn't get away very easily with these devilish angels. Now sprinkle that recipe with oodles of charm, a kind look and a mischievous laughter equals Success Story of Women in Poker.
But if no one gives a care to sex rations and the focus is just to concentrate on the game then Online Poker is an Eden. And WOMEN sure as hell have plenty of those guts.
Making money online by playing poker is an open, level field for both men and women; we need to see more women in poker and on the poker tables soon.

Online Slots - Maximizing Wins, Minimizing Losses

Online Slots - Maximizing Wins, Minimizing Losses
Online slots are fun, fast, easily accessible and offer an incredible gaming variety. If you're hoping to be the main character in one of those slots success stories, there are a few tips that will help in your online slots adventures.
Play Online Slots Responsibly
As mentioned, online slots are fun and fast, and some players can find themselves tapped out before they feel that they've begun. You don't want to fall into that category. Establish limits for yourself in regards to your bankroll and play time, and you'll be in good shape.
Limit Your Playing Time
Though lucky streaks have been known to last for hours and even days, it's best to limit your online slots play to certain times that fall within your budget. Sitting at the computer for hours on end rolling the slots might be quite exciting and entertaining for new players, but it's irresponsible.
Though you can maximize your winning potential playing slots, it is still a game of chance. Casinos bank on players losing their heads, obsessing about beating games of chance -- don't be that person!
Budget Your Bankroll
Before you log into your favorite online casino for a little online slot action, say to yourself, "Today, I'll only play down to (insert dollar amount here)." Once you have played down to that number, shut down the slot action for the day. There's no use in abusing your bankroll hoping to get lucky. Before you know it, you could lose all your playing money.
Playing New Slots and Machines With Maximum Payout Potential
When looking for a slots game to play online, consider the rooms that offer the best no deposit bonus. You'll find several games that will offer this advantage.
Along those lines, consider playing new games offered by online casinos. Oftentimes these new games will offer better play potential due to the casino's desire to push the game's popularity.
When playing progressive slots, remember to bet your maximum credits or you'll be without an opportunity to hit that lucrative jackpot.

No Limit Texas Hold Em: Aces on the Board

No Limit Texas Hold Em: Aces on the Board
I was playing a multi table tournament earlier today, when I was reminded several times of one of the worst plays that I see online players make.A Sometimes I can go for a Sit n Go or two and not see it much, but in this case, I doubled my stack twice within 5 minutes and watched another player do the same thing. It seems so simple, but some players, particularly online, seem intent on making it. I am talking about ignoring an Ace on the board.
Seriously, folks, if you see an Ace on the board, you can bet someone has one to match it. At least one.
So many players seem to just talk themselves into ignoring what is right in front of their face. I am not talking speaking of playing position late, and when an Ace comes on the flop, chances are neither you nor the big blind has it.
No, I am talking about being in early position with something like K-Q and continuing to bet or call bets with an Ace on the board. More than once, I began to think I was being slow played by someone with a set, after my Ace paired up and I continued to get calls on large bets. Both times it turned out to be someone who didnt even have an Ace but had some type of middle pair.
Once a guy with K-T off suit called me all the way to the River and until I had taken his entire chip stack. The board was A-T-4 rainbow with a 7 and a 2 on the Turn and River. I guess he just wanted to "wish" those T's good, or something.
Maybe it is stubbornness, maybe just a sign of a novice player, but one thing that you need to do asap if you are going to get better at No Limit Texas Hold'em is quit calling bets when it is obvious that you are beaten.
The thing about Aces is,A everybody plays them, so if you see one pop up on the board, most of the time your middle pair is just plain no good. It is really as simple as that. I think it is OK to take a shot with middle pair or at least see the flop with junk like Q-9 off suit sometimes, if you want to make that part of your game, but when the flop comes A-9-4, you have got to get out.
I guess it is tempting to try and suck out for some players, but if you notice yourself doing this from time to time, it is a huge gaping hole in your game that is so incredibly easy to shore up. You took a shot and now you are beaten. Move on to the next hand. Your poker bankroll will thank you for it.

What is the Best Strategy For Winning Poker Games?

What is the Best Strategy For Winning Poker Games?
Poker has become one of the most glamorous card games due to televised tournaments featuring Hollywood stars. You want to get in on the action, and you already know the basic rules of the game. But knowing how to play is obviously not enough; you need a strategy. What is the best strategy you can adapt for winning poker games?
The first thing you need to know is the winning order of poker hands. You should find them from a book or on a website and memorize them. Remember that in poker, the ace is the highest card, followed by the face cards then the number cards. Each hand consists of only five cards. The highest hand is the royal flush consisting of an ace followed by the king, queen, jack and ten, all of them the same suit. This is followed by the straight flush (which consists of five consecutive cards of similar suit); four of a kind (same rank, i.e four kings or four aces); full house (three cards of the same rank, two cards of the same rank); flush (five cards same suit non-consecutive); straight (five consecutive cards different suits); three of a kind (same rank); two pair (two pairs of cards with the same rank); one pair and high card (any hand not already mentioned).
Once you're familiar with all the poker hands, it's time for you to learn the basic theorem of playing poker: you win when you play your hand as if you could see your opponent's hand. You also win when you manipulate your opponent into playing differently from how he would play if he could see your hand. You can manipulate your opponent by tricking him through bluffing and slow-playing. In bluffing, you fool your opponent into folding (discarding his hand) even if he has a superior hand by making him believe your hand is stronger. In slow-playing, you do the opposite: you convince your opponent you have a weak hand by betting weakly. The point of slow-playing is to trick your opponent into increasing his bets, thus increasing the size of the pot.
Your position in the game is also an important part of your strategy. If you go later or last then you have an advantage since you can gauge what your opponent's hands are by the actions they take. If you're in an earlier position there is a greater chance that one of your opponents will have a stronger hand. Position is an element of poker you will have to understand to craft a long-term winning strategy.
Of course, you need to learn to read the 'tells' of your opponents. Tells are visual clues to your opponent's hand determined through changes in his behavior or expression. For example, a player with a weak hand may unconsciously reveal it through facial tics. Effectively reading your opponents' tells will enable you to decide what actions to take.
Poker is a complex game with many strategic possibilities, and studying them is the only way to effectively craft a winning strategy. But the best strategic tip is to play poker games as often as possible, either live with friends or with online opponents, and learn from your mistakes and those of your opponents.
